Workshops at Turtle Studios

Workshops are available to open to all unless otherwise indicated.

Workshop Proposals must be proposed in writing to the Pentagang, details to include; time and day of the workshop, fees if any and the level of compensation the initiator(s) proposes to receive.

  • Non-Affiliates wishing to offer a workshop must apply to the Pentagang. They will be regarded as renters of the studio. (See “Studio Rental” section.)

  • If the workshop uses the Studio’s resources significantly, the workshop facilitator must restock used materials.

  • Non-Affiliate attendees must pay the posted non-affiliate fee to attend the workshop and will have access to the studio during the designated hours of the workshop only.

  • A minimum of five (5) participants is necessary to occupy one of the studio spaces exclusively by the workshop.

  • Workshops may be offered virtually via Zoom or other online platform at the discretion of the facilitator (platform not provided by Turtle Studios).

***All participants to in-studio workshops must be healthy, willing to mask up and maintain a 6-foot distance while moving about the studio if experiencing symptoms. Staying vaccinated is strongly encouraged. We strive to maintain health and safety while encouraging creative intimacy and risk-taking!***

Tuesdays at Turtle Studios

With Suzanne McLeod
See Events or Calendar for dates, rates and details

Are you aching to work alongside other artists? broaden your artistic skills? finish that project you have been working on? try something new?

Become part of a weekly Turtle Studios Creativity Circle! Tuesday daytime and evening groups are based on TS practices of play, non-judgment, and connecting with intuition. You will have time, encouragement, coaching, use of the art library and access to wall, floor, table space, play and basic art materials.

In addition to a journal and materials (no oils, please) or projects from home, bring lunch/dinner and snacks for yourself – kettle, microwave, and fridge are available for your use. Chocolate provided!

Tuesdays 11:30 am - 4 pm

Instructor Suzanne McLeod is a painter and Expressive Therapist. “Daily writing, walking in nature, studio time and meditation connect me to what's calling for creative attention. My first visit to Turtle Studios was in 1992. The time I spent in weekly groups and workshops learning from Kate (Ransohoff, TS founder) and from everyone in the studio is a big part of my creative foundation.”

Friday Flow via Zoom

With Sheri Kennedy
See Events or Calendar for dates, rates and details

Do you want to be around artists who enjoy building each other up? Do you want to help others (and yourself!) keep the creativity flowing?

Come to a weekly, 2-hour meetup to pause, breathe and connect with your creative core amid the company of others on the creative journey. Drop-ins welcome; multi-session and Turtle Studios discount passes available! May be covered by your health insurance!

Have your preferred materials on hand… all media and experience levels welcome! We start with an idea prompt accompanied by a brief reading, stretching exercise or guided imagery, then create to music. Optional time for checking in at the end. We encourage active listening and only offer suggestions upon request by the maker.

Most Fridays 10 - noon.

Instructor Sheri Kennedy is a visual artist and graphic facilitator who gets jazzed about the healing powers of art-making. Owner, Fusionary Thinking and Co-Founder, Applied Visual Thinking.
